Moving lift The Hague

Moving lift The Hague: always with an operator

A walk-up apartment without a lift, a winding staircase or a sofa that will not fit through the stairwell: in The Hague it happens every day. Our moving lift (furniture hoist) takes your belongings up or down through a window or balcony, faster and safer than via the stairs. Need a moving lift in The Hague? If the home visit shows you do, the lift including operator is part of your fixed price.

Moving lift The Hague: when do you need one?

Not every home in The Hague lends itself to moving via the stairs. During the home visit we look at the staircase, the turn on the landing and the dimensions of your largest pieces of furniture. We bring in a moving lift when:

We set the lift up against the façade. The platform carries boxes and furniture up or down through a window or balcony, while our team stands ready upstairs and downstairs. That way banisters, walls and your belongings stay intact.

  • your walk-up apartment has no lift and the stairwell is tight
  • the staircase is narrow, steep or winding
  • heavy or large items are above the first floor, such as wardrobes, sofas or a washing machine
  • the balcony or a window is the only way in or out

From request to moving day

You request a quote via the form or call us on 070 - 225 0263. We will contact you within 24 hours. After that we visit you at home with no obligation, or we do a video walkthrough of your home.

During that home visit we can see straight away whether a moving lift is needed and where it will stand in the street. You receive one fixed price, with the lift and the operator included. No billing by the hour and no surprises afterwards.

On moving day our team is at your door on time with the truck, materials and the lift. Where the stairwell will not cooperate, the moving lift is up within fifteen minutes. We are only finished once everything is in its place.

Walk-ups, upstairs apartments and narrow streets

The Hague is a city of walk-ups and upstairs apartments. We know the cramped portiek entrances of Laak and Moerwijk inside and out, just like the narrow, steep staircases of the townhouses in the Statenkwartier and the Archipelbuurt. An upstairs apartment above a shop in the city centre often has only a steep staircase behind a narrow front door.

That is exactly where the lift makes the difference: your belongings go straight down through the street-facing window. In the narrow streets of the city centre, around the Binnenhof, the Plein and the Lange Voorhout, this requires a temporary parking ban or exemption. We apply to the municipality for this on your behalf, so the lift can simply stand outside your door on moving day.

What you get with our moving lift

If the home visit shows that the lift is needed, it is not an extra item on the invoice but part of your fixed price. The same team that carries your furniture and loads the truck sets up and operates the lift; you have one dedicated point of contact. Your belongings are insured throughout the entire move, from the first box on the platform to the last one at your new address.

Would you rather move yourself but skip the stairs? Then you can also hire the moving lift from us on its own, always operated by one of our people. That way the lift stands safely against the façade and your belongings go up or down in a controlled way.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about moving lift The Hague: always with an operator

Yes. If you are moving yourself or with friends, you can hire the moving lift from us on its own. One of our people sets up the lift and operates it the whole time; you and your helpers put the items on the platform. Call 070 - 225 0263 to discuss the options for your date.

Yes. The platform then comes up to a street-facing window, usually the largest one in the front room. During the home visit we check whether that window opens far enough and whether the lift fits in front of the façade. We protect the window frame and sill before the first box goes out.

Usually, yes. The lift leans at an angle against the façade; in the street only the spot outside your door needs to be clear. In narrow streets in the city centre, Laak or the Zeeheldenkwartier we apply to the municipality for a temporary parking ban or exemption. During the home visit we decide together on the best spot for the lift.

Very little. Make sure the window or balcony door where the lift will come can be opened and that the space in front of it is clear of furniture and curtains. It helps if the neighbours know there will be a lift outside the door. Everything else, from the set-up to the parking exemption, is taken care of by our team.
